Daniel, 23 years stabbed

Two people have suffered a tragic death in Obuasi over the weekend.

Anokye 23, and Daniel Opoku 18, died Saturday and Sunday respectively.

Daniel lived in Gausu, a suburb in Obuasi and a form three student of Sam Boakye Senior High school. Per eyewitness report, he died from severe beatings from thugs believed to be members of his rival gang.

Anokye on the other hand was said to have died by stabbing, as rival gangs clashed at a wake keeping that took place at Akaporiso.
 
Over the past weeks, Obuasi has recorded high numbers of thugs related deaths. Starting from December 9, 2020, a young man in his early 20s was also stabbed to death during a victory March of NPP supporters in Obuasi and the killings have not ceased ever since.

In an interview the mother of the late Daniel, Madam Ama Serwaa told that her son is an introspective type of person and so it baffles that someone in his rightful senses will harm such him.

She, however, called on relevant authorities to clamp down on the killers of her son. She alleged that one Seth and his accomplice, Owusu are the perpetrators of this crime.

Preliminary investigations done by journalists, however, suspects that Daniel is a member of a gang which had previously fought and injured a member of another group.

These gangs that have found its way in the youths of Obuasi consist of young people whose age range 16 to 18.

The two cases have however been reported to the police and investigations are currently underway.
