National Democratic Congress Parliamentary Candidate for Afigya Kwabre North Constituency in the Ashanti Region, Mr Emmanuel Jackson Agumah has outlined his vision.
Speaking in an interview with Soireenews.com, Mr Agumah presented to the public what he termed as the bold solution for the future vision in his manifesto.
He said the Afigya Kwabre North Constituency needs to invigorate the can-do spirit of the people in the area to believe that "we can even do better than we ever imagined if we put our minds to it’.
The visions as he presented to the public lay more emphasis on attaining sustainable security, health, education, employment, youth and sports, agriculture, water and sanitation, roads, creative arts, mobile telecommunications ,market development plan
The rest includes Industrialization for jobs, Fighting corruption development of a credit system for constituents, having a community development plan, collaboration with faith-based organizations, tourism, care for the vulnerable and special needs and additional priorities.
HEALTH
On the matter, Mr Agumah assured to upgrade Ahenkro Health Centre into a district hospital due to its location.
According to him, the Boamang, Tetrem, Nkwantakese and Kyekyewere’s Health Centres would be upgraded into polyclinics,adding that the new clinics shall be built at Penteng, Oyera and Denase.
When elected the MP for the area, he assured to ensure in service training for health workers and creation of a unit on emerging public health emergencies, scholarships for needy students to study nursing, disease control, laboratory diagnosis and medicine.
He stresed that he will ensure the periodically supplying medical equipment and supplies and build a district public health preparedness emergency unit.
EDUCATION:
On the education, according to the NDC PC, he will ensure that each community without a library gets one and restore and furnish all existing libraries with modern supplies and computers.
GIFEC building at Nkwantakese shall be converted into Nkwantakese Senior High School ( Boakye Yam Ababio Senior High School).
He promised to ensure, that all school buildings are renovated and in good shape while the faster growing communities or villages get primary schools.
"Regularly supplying teaching and learning materials and motivating teachers in the district.
Support at least ten 10 teachers annually for further studies while giving scholarships to brilliant but needy students into tertiary institutions both locally and internationally.
Introduce proper annual awards system for teaching and non-teaching staff," he assured.
AGRICULTURE
On the agriculture, he assured to supply free farm inputs to farmers on all crop farming especially cocoa.
He promised to promote modern vegetable crops (tomatoes, pepper, okro, onions, lettuce, ginger, cabbage etc) farming and processing in a mini factory.
Support hundred farmers annually on livestock farming and poultry to provide food and employment opportunities.
Agro-processing; establish a mini factory to produce black soap for exports to Canada.
EMPLOYMENT: Lead and create employment opportunities for all the youth in the district in all public and private organisations to ensure that at least 100 youth are employed annually.
SECURITY:
He promised to ensure that at least fifty (50) youth are recruited into all security services annually.
"I would establish a police station at Nkwantakese, build three police post at Pampatia to cater for PPP, between Soko to Tetrem and between Tetrem and Kyekyewere (Nobesu Nkwanta)," he said.
ROADS:
He promised that l "Do my possible best to ensure that Nkwantakese, Penteng, Pampatia, Patase, Esaase roads are tarred."
He stresed that the Ahenkro, Boamang, Kwaman, Nkwantakese, Tetrem and Kyekyewere town roads are well graded in my first term and tarred in my second term.
Additionally, he said the Duaponko, Banko, Dwenewoho, Kobeda and Abidjan Road shall be constructed and well graded during my first term and tarred in my second term.
WATER AND SANITATION:
According to Mr Agumah, he will work hard
to ensure that all communities and new sites have access to potable water.
"All communities without proper toilet especially, Boamang, Nkwantakese Habitat and Kyekyewere would be provided with Water Closet toilets.
SPORTS: to establish two football academies to promote football talent development and create opportunities for players to secure contracts in Europe," he added.
"Thus, AFIGYA FOOTBALL CLUB (AFA) and KWABRE FOOTBALL CLUB (KFC) shall be established to achieve this objective and to also promote local football and our national teams.
CREATIVE ARTS:
He promised for the establishment of recording studio at Ahenkro because of its location to help all up and coming musicians in the district to record their music and build their talents.
He indicated that the dancing and drumming talents shall also be developed at each community level by hiring instructors per community especially teachers to help.
MARKETS:
He stated the Boamang, Nkwantakese, Kwaman, Tetrem and Kyekyewere markets shall be extended and well developed with modern stores and taxi stations.
He further assured that ths mew markets shall be built at Soko, Adukro, Aboroma and Banko.
BANKING:
He promised to lobby to bring at least one national and or international bank with ATM machines at Ahenkro.
MOBILE TELECOMMUNICATIONS:
He mentioned that consultations shall be made with NCA and telcos to build a telephone marts at Denase and Asoredanho to promote proper mobile telecommunication signal strength.
