Nino has opined that anyone that knows how to make children laugh is fit to be a comedian.

The stand-up comedian used the statement to illustrate his own origins, as he narrated how started his career as a comedian.

He said these while speaking on the Late Nite Celebrity Show with Foster Romanus on eTV Ghana.

“About six years back, I used to do a lot of charity comedy shows. Every festive season, I would contact a charity organization so that they would assemble the kids for me. After doing the charitable work, I would do kids playtime with them and share some jokes with them so with my stand-up comedy, I started with kids."

"And from what I know, if you’re able to make children laugh, then you can do comedy so I started with that and it was along the line that I met Khemikal the comedian who pushed me more. We became friends and he told me that I’m a very funny person and I have that charisma so I should not limit myself,” he shared.

The comedian, who has been out of commission for a while now, stated that he is back and is ready to work.

“Right now, I’m really ready to work and I have done a few performances already since I resumed, so I think the sky is the starting point and the future is bright. All that matters is that at the end of the day, I’m in to entertain Ghanaians”. He said.

Nino then declared that he does comedy to bring joy to people and not for the money or fame.

“I got to the point where my name was almost out there but due to one or two circumstances, I had to lay back a bit and honestly, I haven’t regretted that because one thing is, I don’t perform to be popular. Popularity is out. I don’t want it. I just want to entertain.”

“I think that as humans, sometimes we need to take some time off certain things and be laid back so that we can analyze one or two things”,

He revealed that it was Khemikal who took him to his first proper stand-up comedy show at Comedy Bar inside Accra mall where he met the likes of Hafco, DKB, Foster Romanus, Ajeezay, Jacinta and more.
