The Chief of Aburi Divisional Area in the Eastern Region, Otoobour Djan Kwasi II, has stated categorically that the Akuapem Adonten Osiahene stool is not vacated.

Per his words, the person installed as chief of the Area under the stool name, Nana Obuobi Aduana IIl is not dead.

According to Otoobour Djan Kwasi II who doubles as the Adontenhene of the Akuapem Traditional Area per the law under the Chieftaincy Act, no one can be installed to ascend the throne of the Adonten Osiahene since Nana Obuobi Aduana IIl still alive and kicking.

He indicated that the appeal made to him by some elders and citizens of the area to critically consider the performance of this ceremonial rituals to satisfy the chieftaincy status of Nana Obuobi Odi Ahenkan Ababio II in order to help promote peace in the area is illegal and unconstitutional.

He opined that as a law-abiding citizen, he can't perform the ceremonial swearing-in of Nana Obuobi Odi Ahenkan Ababio II to be recognized as the substantive chief of Akuapem Adonten Osiahene community and a successor of the late chief of Akuapem Adonten Osiahene, Nana Obuobi Aduana II since the  Akuapem Adonten Osiahene is not empty.
