The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly in partnership with the organizers of the Ghana International Trade and Finance Conference (GITFIC) and the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) is organizing a seminar on Africa Continental Free Trade Area in the Ashanti Region on Tuesday 9th  February 2020.

It may be recalled that Accra was officially declared the Commercial Capital of Africa by virtue of the fact that the Headquarters of the Africa Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) is situated in the heart of Accra. This was done on behalf of H.E the President by the Senior Minister, Hon. Ing. Yaw Osafo –Marfo, at the 4th Ghana International Trade and Finance Conference on the 27th and 28th October, 2020.

The declaration saw some Industry Giants join the Senior Minister, the Mayor of Accra, the Chief Executive Officer of GITFIC and AGI on stage for the unveiling of the LOGO.

As charged by the Senior Minister of the Republic of Ghana, this golden opportunity was not to be limited to Accra alone, as has always been the case, but must be extended to the Business Communities in the various Regions.

The Private sector is largely expected to drive the AfCFTA as has been said several times by Heads of States, Appointees and the Continental Community. GITFIC has for the past 5 years proved its ability to bring together Business Executives, policy makers and subject matter experts from all over Africa and the world to throw more light on the existing opportunities in the African continent and notably how to turn words into action.
