Taxi Drivers in Akuapem Mampong are calling for the construction of the town roads, particularly the road from the Presbyterian church taxi rank to the Tetteh Quarshie cocoa farm.

The drivers say they have complained bitterly about the deplorable nature of their Mampong township roads for a couple of years now but they remain unfixed.

According to them, potholes have overtaken the roads which makes driving extremely difficult.

The drivers, who spoke to Soiree News on April 8th, 2021, said "the roads are very bad. They've developed manholes not potholes any longer,” they said.

They further lamented that the bad roads have frequently broken down their vehicles and resulting in the high cost of maintenance.

“We would have embarked on the communal labuor after several pleas fell on deaf ears, but realistically, the roads are beyond maintenance and it needs reconstruction," the driver revealed.

For this reason, they are calling on the Municipal Assembly and the government to fix the deplorable roads in the Akuapem Mampong community.
