Students of Kumasi Technical Institute (KTI) in Ashanti Regional capital Kumasi vandalized school properties in a massive protest, which occurred on Sunday.

The 10 students of the Kumasi Technical School arrested on Monday for going on rampage in the school have been granted bail.

The Manhyia Divisional Police Commander, ACP Kwaku Boah confirmed that the students were helping the Police with investigations after vandalizing school properties over failure to comply with a school directive to use official dress code of the school for during prep on Sunday evening.

According to report, there were no charges as parents and school authorities have come in harmony to solve the matter.

“They were supposed to be in a prescribed uniform for the prep but some students refused to clad in the uniform. The house masters tried to insist that the students put on the arranged uniform for the prep which did not go down well for the students,” ACP Kwaku Buah said.

The housemaster involved in the incident was hurt on the head and was given a medical report to show up at the hospital for treatment.
