The Ashanti Region used to play a pivotal role in agriculture some years ago. The cultivation of different types of foods from surrounding towns to cities during market days was very huge but the process of time has necessitated investors to look elsewhere as farming has become unattractive to majority of the stakeholders.

The youth after secondary education abandon the profession of their families to seek white-collar jobs which gradually, is running short of labourers as the old retires.

The Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo government’s introduction of the Planting for Food and Job which aims at encouraging the use of information and communication technologies (ICT) for efficient targeting of beneficiaries of the campaign is an awakening call to scholars in the Region not to abandon their heritage.

He recognized all voters for their patriotism to put Ashanti first in all things after a successful election. He applauded his competitors for the challenge which exhibits the beauty of democracy in Ghana and the Ashanti Region.
