Chief and people of Awutu Yamoa Nkwanta, in the Awutu Senya West constituency of the Central Region, are crying over the recent invasion of the town Landguards who for the past two weeks have unleashed terror on the residents.

The Land guards, who are said to have been smuggled to Yamoa Nkwanta by some Gomoa Fetteh indigenes go to building sites, pull down buildings, and seize working tools of contractors.

The act, according to Nai Kwao Akyieni, Odikro of Yamoa Nkwanta has brought fear and panic to the residents.

Speaking to Soireenews.com yesterday, Nai Akyieni disclosed that they are a peace-loving people who have lived in harmony for all this while until the Gomoa Fetteh people started claiming the town to be part of their land.

Nai Akyieni has therefore called on the IGP, and other security agencies to as a matter of urgency address the issues to avert any good shed.

Anona Abusuapanin of Yamoa Nkwanta, Otukonor Acheampong Kumah, on the other hand, said that even though there is an installed chief at Yamoah Nkwanta, some factions within the community want to create confusion by threatening to install another chief.

This, according to him will adversely affect the development of Yamoah Nkwanta and therefore, has appealed to all stakeholders and the Awutu traditional council to help resolve the situation.
