The Mayor of Sekondi /Takoradi, Honorable Abdul-Mumin Issah, accompanied by the National, Regional and Metropolitan Directors of Education and the Metropolitan Superintendent of schools on Tuesday,19th November 2021 visited some basic schools in the Metropolis to welcome kindergarten pupils on their first day at school.

Some of the schools visited included the Mberdane Basic School, Nchaban Nkwanta MA Primary and the Sofokrom MA primary.

Honourable Mumin Issah, during the visits, welcomed the pupils to their first day at school and urged them to be punctual to school and avoid truancy in order to reach higher educational levels to become prominent persons in the society.

Mr Mumin Issah, distributed to the pupils Personal Protective Equipements, exercise books and other learning materials to aid in their studies during this pandemic.

He charged the headteachers and staff to be patient with pupils since the long stay at home would slow the learning abilities of some of them and will take time for them to pick up.

Madam Benedicta Seidu, the National Director of Education pleaded with the teachers to revisit their previous lessons to help pupils refreshen their memories.
