The President of Ghana on Wednesday issued a directive to the Minister for Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta, to make available $100 million to support Ghana’s preparedness plan towards coronavirus.

The Ministry of Health has confirmed the first case of COVID-19 in Ghana on Thursday, March 12, 2020.

According to a press release signed by the Minsiter for Health, Kwaku Agyemang-Manu, the cases are imported as “both individuals returned to Ghana from Norway and Turkey with their laboratory results proven by the Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research.

 

 

The statement assured that both patients are currently “being kept in isolation and are stable. It assured every Ghanaians to “take care of their health and that of their families by adhering to precautionary measures”.
