Kumasi Asante Kotoko will enter into the second leg of the CAF Confederations Cup play-off with FC San Pedro in La Cote D'lvoire with a 1-0 aggregate.

The second half of the game was played at 2pm on Monday afternoon after a heavy downpour interrupted the final 45 minutes from continuing yesterday.

An additional time penalty was scored by Naby Keita following Sogne Yacouba's foul in the yard.

 

 

The Porcupine Warriors were intensed against the Ivorian side and looked to rack a few goals to guarantee their qualification at the start of the second half at the Baba Yara Stadium after failing to score in the first half on Sunday.

A Richard Arthur’s goal in the 64-minute was disallowed by the referee after been flagged for offside.

The Porcupine Warriors came close again following a huge miss from Naby Keita in the 73-minute- Keita checked inside the San Pedro box and tried a shot from close range but his effort was parried away by the goalkeeper. The corner was cleared by the aggressive San Pedro defense.

Kjetil Zachariassen replaced Patrick Yeboah with Kelvin Andoh to change his formation to 3-4-3 before Richard Arthur, connected with a pass around the edge of the box aimed and opted for a shot. His attempt went towards the bottom left corner, but Sylla Bemfa was alert and headed the ball from the goal line in the 86-minute.

Kotoko finally had the edge in the five minutes additional time.  Naby Keita scored the only goal through a penalty.
