According to him, it is sad that some chiefs and traditional rulers are not playing their role as chiefs because the authority in chieftaincy is lacking and if a chief can not support development in the area he resides it leads to instability.

Nana Kofi Ankantoa the Amankorahene of Chiraa in the Sunyani West Municipality of Bono Region has stated that the chieftaincy institution in Ghana is a good institution which has travelled for so many years and is about time traditional authorities get involved massively in development.

He said the chieftaincy institution represents authority, unity, peace, development and others which the citizens recognized as a good institution in the world among other leadership positions.

According to him, it is sad that some chiefs and traditional rulers are not playing their role as chiefs because the authority in chieftaincy is lacking and if a chief can not support development in the area he resides it leads to instability.

Nana Kofi Ankantoa in an interview after his installation as Amankorahene of Chiraa Traditional Council urged Nananom and other traditional authorities to play a leading role in their respective communities to support development in their communities.

Nana Kofi Ankantoa commended the Paramount Chief of Dormaa Ahenkro, Osagyefo Oseadeayo Dr Agyemang Badu II for his strict support to fight illegal mining in the Bono Region and for that matter prevented galamsay activities in Dormaa land.

He said the leadership role that Dormaahene has exhibited needs commendation from the state because he has the vow to distool any sub-chief in the Dormaa Traditional area who will give out their land for any galamsey activities.

He, therefore, pledge his support to work together with Chiraa Traditional Council to help develop Chiraa to a standard everyone will be willing to stay in Chiraa for business and other activities for the progress of the town.

He finally called on the people of Chiraa to always live in unity and cooperate with the traditional authorities for progress and development to lift the image of Chiraa higher across the globe.
