COVID-19: Nigeria Records 125 New Cases, Recoveries Rate Exceed 49,000

"Till date, 57849 cases have been confirmed, 49098 cases have been discharged and 1102 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory," NCDC reveals.

Nigeria’s recovery count of coronavirus infections has exceeded 49,000 with 113 persons discharged on Thursday.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced the new recoveries in its twitter handle on September 24, 2020.

NCDC tweeted: "On the 24th of September 2020, 125 new confirmed cases were recorded in Nigeria.

"Till date, 57849 cases have been confirmed, 49098 cases have been discharged and 1102 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

The 125 new cases are reported from 13 states- Lagos (37), Plateau (18), FCT (17), Ogun (15), Rivers (10), Benue (7), Kaduna (7), Anambra (5), Oyo (3), Cross River (2), Ondo (2), Edo (1), Imo (1).

The country has recorded more than 7,000 recoveries within the month of September.

According to data from the NCDC, as of September 1, Nigeria hit 42,010 on its recovery count, but two weeks later, the figure surpassed 44,000.

By September 16, the figure had jumped to 47,872, with 3,442 new recoveries recorded — over 2,000 patients were confirmed in the FCT.

No new death was reported on Thursday.
