The Eastern Regional Minister, Mr. Seth Acheampong has paid a working visit to the Attafuah Senior Technical High School.
His visit follows a recent violent rainstorm that ripped off almost the entire school’s buildings over the weekend.

The minister was accompanied by an entourage to find out the best way to resolve the challenges and damages caused by the storm at the Birim Central municipality.
Speaking to the media the Headmaster of Attafuah Senior Technical School, Mr. Francis Kumson Bance, confirmed that the school buildings were ripped off, a situation he said has affected several academic activities in the school.

The Minister however assured the school’s authorities that government will soon provide the necessary support to fix the classrooms in which roofs were ripped off.
He said the government will as well assist the victims to relieve them of their burden.
Mr. Seth Acheampong, former MP for Mpraeso South Constituency, noted that the state of the destruction was not ordinary, adding that measures will be put in place to discover the cause of the violent storm.

“This disaster that occurred on Monday, is not an ordinary one. We are therefore waiting for a vivid report of the damages,” the minister stated.
He encouraged the school to start planting trees to prevent future occurrences of such natural disasters and that is the best solution to protect buildings and properties.
He assured the school that all destroyed properties would be fixed as soon as possible and various damages that have been caused to properties in the affected departments of the school, will be restored in order not for the academic activities to be distracted.
