Engineer Boakye-Appiah joined the Electricity Company of Ghana, (ECG) on 4th January, 1990 and has served in various capacities till date.

The Electricity Company of Ghana has terminated the contract of Care-Taker Chief Executive Officer, Ing. Samuel Boakye-Appiah.
According to a release by the Energy Ministry dates on 1 November, signed by the Chief Director, Lawrence Apaalse, the Chief Director, the Care Take CEO is to hand over duties to the Deputy Managing Director, Mr. Kwame Agyemang Budu with immediate effect.
President Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo appointed Mr. Kwame Appiah in February 2017 and his dismissal follows the termination of the Power Distribution Service Concession agreement.
