Manchester City’s goalkeeper, Ederson is uncertain to feature against Liverpool on Sunday after picking a muscular injury against Atalanta on Wednesday night.

The Citizens played a 1-1 draw in the UEFA Champions League game Group C fixture at the San Siro. Claudio Bravo replaced the Brazilian and was later sent off after a challenge of Josip IIicic with Kyle Walker taking the post. It was a second red card in the UEFA Champions League as a City player, the first having come against Barcelona in October 2016.

Speaking to Skysports when asked if his first choice goalkeeper would be fit ahead of the Anfield trip, he said, "I don't know right now”

"It's a muscular problem. It was not big but [I took him off] to avoid risk. He didn't feel comfortable in the last minutes and that's why we decided to make a substitution."

Liverpool is yet to lose a game this season at Anfield since April 2017. Manchester City were the only side to beat Jurgen Klopp’s men by 2-1 at the Etihad in January 2018.
