Both Manchester Clubs have been drawn against League 2 sides.

Everton have been drawn against Leicester City in the English League Cup quarter-finals drawn on Thursday morning.

Manchester City and United will host League 2’s Oxford and Colchester United respectively.

 

 

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool after an impressive 5-4 win over Arsenal on penalties following a 5 -5 draw on Wednesday night have been paired to Aston Villa.

The Premier League and Football League have been in talks with clubs over switching a potential quarter-final involving Liverpool to the week commencing 6 January, currently scheduled for the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg.

Jurgen Klopp earlier threatened to quit the competition if the quarterfinal date is not adjusted to favor the Reds due to a pile up of fixtures from November 27 to January 2. Liverpool will represent Europe to participate in the FIFA Club World Cup fixtures in Doha, Qatar.

Colchester have played United twice in cups, in 1979 and 1983, and lost on both occasions.

Manchester City are defending Champions of the League Cup and will look forward to eliminating Oxford City in the tournament since Manchester United in October 2016.
