Hisham Selim, a well-known actor in Egyptian cinema, television, and theater, passed away at the age of 64 from lung cancer.

Like him, Selim's father was a famous football player who later became an actor. Both were chain smokers.

Selim's career spans five decades, beginning in 1972 when he appeared in his first movie alongside the illustrious Faten Hamama.

He appeared in two legendary movies directed by the famed Egyptian Youssef Chahine, including the epic Return of the Prodigal Son, which starred the legendary Lebanese actress Majida al-Roumi.

In her heartfelt eulogy, which has received the most online shares, she referred to him as her soulmate.
