The Ahafo Regional branch of Ghana National Association of Traditional Healers has made a passionate appeal to President Nana Akufo-Addo to establish a factory for the production of traditional herbal medicine in the region.

He said the factory should be created under the One-District One-Factory policy to create more jobs for the people of Ahafo.

The Ahafo Regional Chairman of Ghana National Association of Traditional Healers, Dr. Yaw Binney said "traditional medicine “was what Ghanaians relied on on, until the introduction of foreign drugs.

Speaking at the inauguration of the Mim District Branch of the Association, he declared that improper packaging is a contributory factor for the low demand for herbal medicines.

He suggested that should government draws its attention to the local medicines by establishing factories for them, proper branding would be done and will attract the public to patronize it.

He added that government should financially support traditional herbalists in order to expand their businesses.
