The Sokum family at Fufuo in the Atwima Nwabiagya North District has appreciated the assistance of the public towards their child, Emmanuel Sokum, suffering from an imperforate anus defect.

They have made known the financial statement on monies received for the surgery of their ward disclosing that an amount of GH₵3,000 is still required to sum the required figure.

According to the Fufuo Unit Committee chairman, Mr. Rockson Ntiamoah, the total money received earlier was GH8,500 from charities yet, per doctor’s advice, few things needed to prepare the young boy for the operation in two months’ time was embarked.

He explained that GH1,500 cedis was used to purchase recommended items, which has affected the gathered funds.

 

 

“We have been able to raise GH8,500. The doctor advised us to make a few purchases for the wellbeing of the child, which has lessened the amount of money to GH7,000,” Mr. Rockson said whiles speaking to SoireeNews.

“Amount remaining so far is GH7,000 cedis and we are still pleading to the public for help. The doctor has assured to do the surgery for us in the month of August so we are waiting for the time," he added.

Mr. Rockson asserted that the Member of Parliament for Atwima Nwabiagya North, Hon. Benito Owusu Bio has guaranteed to support the boy together with the District Chief Executive, Hon. Rebecca Yeboah after they channeled their misery to the District Assembly and the MP’s office.

 

 

“We spoke to our DCE, Hon. Rebecca Yeboah and she gave us a procedure to follow. We completed the given forms and waited for confirmation. The MP also called and promised that he would also be here to do his part for the boy’s surgery and urged us to process the needed documents.

“We believe that their help will also play a key role in the boy’s finances,” he added.

Mother of Emmanuel, Sokum Jennifer asked for prayers for a safe surgery when the time is due.

“Prayers are also needful so they shouldn’t forget us in prayers,” she added.
