Residents of Yendi have cried to the Government of Ghana to fix their street lights, an approach they believe will help end robbery and accidents in the Municipality.

Due to faulty street lighting in the Municipality, fear and panic have fueled most people and going out at night has been a challenge due to the terror of getting robbed.

Some residents in the Municipality Assembly of the Northern Region expressed their dissatisfaction with the government on the increase of robbery and road accidents every day due to the lack of street lights and how faulty some have become.

Speaking to Soireenews Northern Regional Correspondent, Stephen Amoah, they stressed that none of the street light function at night and that has resulted in standstill their businesses.

They spoke that business is running down because they have to close very early to prevent any attacks.

According to the Municipal Chief Executive for Yendi, Honorable Ahmed Yussif Abubakar, the information provided by the residents is true.

He explained that the street light worked perfectly before the 2020 general election but it took a twist and darkness has become their fold at night.
