The Bono Regional Chairman for the Convention Peoples Party, Ali Dayinde has said the act of discrimination against Muslim Students in some schools in the country even in the non-Missionary Schools is getting out of hands.

Mr Dayinde who is also an educationist was commenting on the move by the Wesley Girls Senior High School’s saga on Sunday's edition of Issues on Ark FM monitored by SoireeNews.

He added that there are Schools that are being catered for by the Government but yet they use their religious sentiment to prevent others from worshipping in a free will, saying there is religious intolerance in the country which needs to be dealt with.

Mr Dayinde however called on all well-meaning Ghanaians to come with a lasting solution to this rising religious discrimination against some faith folks who are not even Muslims but Christians to other Christians and added that Ghanaian Muslims is not against Christians in any way hence the need to allow others exercise their faith if it doesn’t hinder religious beliefs.

He however charged Muslim leadership to see this as a wake-up call to establish more quality Schools to serve as an example of tolerance by admitting other religious folks and allow them to freely worship.

Mr Dayinde also called on stakeholders to as a matter of urgency deal with this issue before it gets out of hand because some Muslims can go to the extreme if this is not solved early.

In the wake of the Wesley Girls' High School religious controversies where the headmistress banned Muslim girls from fasting, the GES issued a directive that Muslims should be allowed to observe their religious obligations.

But the Methodist Church of Ghana, which is the management of the school, issued a counter-press statement to rubbish the directive by the GES.
