Ghanaian Afrobeats artiste Wendy Shay has alleged that most Ghanaians are hypocrites for always neglecting their own artiste’s achievements while blowing up others from neighboring countries who make the same achievements.

She claimed that Ghanaians never support their own when it matters especially when they make a particular breakthrough in an area of music explaining that Ghanaian fans will always find faults with whatever a Ghanaian artiste does or achieves in his or her career hence the statement, "a prophet is not appreciated in his or her own home".

She uploaded her message on Twitter, asking Ghanaians to do better. She said:  “BEYONCÉ featured Shatta Wale But u ppl didn’t want to see it as a big deal Stonebwoy featured Keri Hilson and most of u were saying oh but Keri Hilson di3 dis n dat Now Davido features Nicki Minaj and Gh is singing praises Ghana wake up!”.

The singer made this comments after Ghanaians on Twitter hailed Nigerian artist Davido for collaborating with American rapper Niki Minaj.

Wendy Shay was introduced to music by Rufftown Records Manager Bullet and signed in January 2018 after the untimely death of label mate Ebony Reigns. On 1 June 2018, Wendy Shay released her debut single "Uber Driver", produced by MOG Beatz. The song was released together with the official video the same day.
