The Techiman South Municipal Chairman for the Ghana National Private Schools, GNAPS, Mr. Charles Kwame Afena, has applauded President Akufo-Addo for supporting private schools with personal protective equipment (PPEs) following schools reopening.

According to him, the government has given them the needed support to help prevent the spread of the covid-19 pandemic in their schools.

Mr. Afena disclosed that the government provided them with personal protective equipment such as hand sanitizers, nose masks, Veronica buckets, liquid soaps, and tissues.

Speaking in an interview with the media, the Techiman South GNAPS chairman stated that, the government has treated both the privates and public schools equally during the distribution of the PPEs.

Meanwhile, he expressed disappointment in the government for neglecting them in the relief package to support small, medium enterprises affected by covid 19.

He said such an offer would have gone a long way in solving the majority of the financial challenges facing private schools as they have been hit hard by the pandemic.
