Menstruation is the regular discharge of blood and mucosal tissue from the inner lining of the uterus through the vagina.
Menstruation is the cyclical shedding of the lining and is triggered by falling progesterone levels. It is a sign that pregnancy has not occurred. The menstrual cycle occurs due to the rise and fall of hormones.
The Health Promotion Officer for this reason said the girls must be thoroughly taught on how to keep themselves very clean when they experience the blood flow.
She also taught the students the effective ways of using sanitary pads.
