Ghanaian football giants, Accra Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko have set a new revenue record for the country after amounting GHC 726,380 following Sundays clash.

This huge amount becomes the highest revenue any football match has earned in a match following the Ghana Premier League match in Accra.

"The amount from the gate proceeds in the Hearts of Oak clash with Asante Kotoko was Gh¢ 726,380," National Sports Authority PRO Charles Amoah told Kumasi based Oyerepa FM.

The previous record was held by Kotoko last year when they played in the CAF Confederations Cup in Kumasi against Cameroonian giants Coton Sport Garoua and earned them GHC639,000.

Prior to their record, the highest proceeds recorded over the years was in 2014 when Ghana beat Egypt 6-1 in a World Cup qualifier at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi that recorded over GHC 4000,000.

Now Hearts holds the new record versus Kotoko match on Sunday which ended 2-1 in favor of Kotoko.
