"I have not asked for any PL delay" - Mourinho

Jose Mourinho has reflected his stance on the Premier League managers’ decision to make available sufficient training time before the league can resume for fear of further injury concerns.
Media reports on Thursday morning aimed the controversial Spurs coach to have suggested the idea to impede the return of English Football.
According to the Times, managers consider the fixed date too hasty and have asked for more time to prepare after longer days off the pitch.
Mourinho in a statement released by Spurs has explained that the media were not fair in their dealings and has underlined that he is ‘desperate’ for the return of football as soon as it is safe to do so.
"I don't think my position in the meeting has been reflected fairly at all today in media reports. I have not asked for any delay," Mourinho said, in a statement released by Tottenham.
"I want to train, and I am desperate for the Premier League to return as soon as it is safe to do so, particularly now we are seeing other leagues preparing to return to action.

The manager disclosed his delight in players’ fitness throughout the lockdown and the ban on sporting activities.
Spurs are eight on the premier league table with 42 points after 29 games. The managers first season in charge has been demanding following their exit from the Champions League and a slim chance of qualification folowing their average performance in the early stages of the season which led to the sack of former manager, Maurico Pochettino.
"I am extremely proud of the way my players have maintained their fitness - they have shown great professionalism, passion and dedication.
"We have all been working extremely hard through remote squad training sessions and isolated running now the pitches are available to use again at the training centre.
"Every player has been extremely committed in terms of their individual work and now we wait for clearance to commence working in small groups again, which I will fully support."
A 40-page document was given to each Premier League captain on training protocols ahead of ‘Project Restart” after the PL met players on Wednesday.
