Bice Osei Kuffour, the former President of the Musicians Union of Ghana expressed his anguish at the fact that his father, Nana Osei Kuffour, would not be alive to see him become a Member of Parliament.

Obour revealed that his late father, who recently just passed away had been the source of his drive for success which is why he is very sad that he would not be around to reap the fruits of his labor.

He stated that seeing him become an MP in the Asante Akyem Constituency was one of his father's biggest dreams.

Speaking in an interview on Peace FM, Obour revealed that, “If there are two things that hurt me most in this world, the death of my father will be number one. After my mother died in 2016, my father became my mum and my dad. Everyone who knows my father knows he is a father who is more than a friend, I do everything with him. The reason why I’m so pained is that he couldn’t wait to see the future of his son. Now that I’ve also grown to a point where I can take care of him financially so he can enjoy the fruit of his labor”

"I know one of his heart desires was to see me become the Member of Parliament for Asante Akyem South because he knew the heart with which I’m doing this work. If this happened to someone, I’m sure they might not have been able to continue with this race but I’m motivated by the fact that the only glory I can give my father in death is to win this race.

"This was the year he had his 75th birthday so we all decided that when I win my primaries, we would organize a big 75th birthday celebration for him. He was very key in my contest, even when I went to pick my nomination forms at Asante Akyem South constituency office, he was there with me, everyone can attest to that fact. He is a father who was my friend, my advisor and my everything and for him to die within that short time without really getting bed-ridden, I’m still unable to understand”, he said.

His father was alleged to have died from the coronavirus infection at the Ridge Hospital.
