Select Committee on health in Parliament has urged the government to intensify covid-19 vaccination in rural areas. The move, according to the Minority, will help ensure that everyone is covered by the nationwide vaccination.

Addressing the parliamentary press corps earlier today in parliament, the Ranking Member on the Health Committee of parliament, Honourable Kwabena Mintah Akandoh expressed disappointment in the government's unacceptable slow nature in rolling out full rural vaccination across the country.

He however called on the Ministry of Health and Ghana Health Service to allocate enough vaccines for rural vaccination. This, according to him, will enable the rural folks to be covered in the nationwide vaccination.

He further reiterated the need to reduce the rather soaring covid-19 cases as reported by the Ministry of Health. He further entreated the Ministry of Health and Ghana Health Service to step up the same in the various districts across the country.

Select Committee of Parliament on health raised concerns earlier today over the rather low Covid 19 vaccination, especially in rural areas. Addressing the Parliamentary Press Corpse earlier today, the Ranking on the Committee, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh called on the ministry of health and the Ghana Health Service to make vaccines available in the various districts across the country Chairman of the Committee, MP for Effiduase-Asokore, Dr. Ayew Afriyie asserted that in the event there is a new outbreak of the Coronavirus, those in the rural areas will greatly be affected. The committee however indicated its readiness to embark on a mass vaccination campaign across the length and breadth of the country.
