Italy have qualified to next year’s Euro 2020 after a 2-0 win against Greece on Saturday evening.

They also topped Group J with a 100 percent record racking up 21 points from seven matches.

Italy dominated possession in the early stages without making any real inroads or creating any chances. Greece packed men behind the ball and looked to frustrate the four-time world champions.

The visitors created the first real chance of the match in the 12-minute. Limnios was fed through on the right-hand side of the penalty area but his venomous shot was beaten away by Donnarumma.

Italy lacked movement and energy in the final third as Greece were happy to see the ball being knocked around in front of them at a leisurely pace.

Insigne clipped a free kick into the area in the 28-minute .It was flicked on by Bonucci, but not a single Italian player committed to running in to pick up the scraps.

The first half ended with Italy haven had a mammoth 79 per cent possession after half an hour but were still yet to test Paschalakis in the Greece goal.

The host were rewarded a penalty in the second half. Verratti turned in the box and directed the ball back for Insigne. His shot hit the arm of Bouchalakis as the referee confirmed it. Jorginho tucked it home to the left with his trademark run-up and finished.

Greece came close in the 74-minute but Bakasetas finishing was poor to hit them level them with the home side. Bouchalakis' header back to the penalty spot from a deep cross found Bakasetas. He completely sliced his half volley into the grateful hands of Donnarumma.
