Joao Felix will be on the sidelines for three weeks after sustaining an injury during training.

The Atletico Madrid player twisted his left knee and will miss the Los Rojiblancos first La Liga fixture since the restart of the Laliga against Athletic Club.

The Club has further reported that the Portuguese International has undergone tests at the Clínica Universidad de Navarra and is responding to treatment.

A statement released on the official website of the Spanish Club revealed that “João Félix has suffered a low-grade medial collateral ligament left knee sprain, as confirmed by tests he underwent at the Clínica Universidad de Navarra. The Portuguese international is pending response to treatment.

“The Portuguese striker, who has suffered a low-grade medial collateral ligament left knee sprain, underwent tests at the Clínica Universidad de Navarra and is pending response to treatment,” it added.

This is the third injury endured by the forward within the season after missing four games and two in the Champions League following his sprained ankle against Valencia.

The 20-year old because of injury has been able to play 28 games so far for Athletico this season.
