Kakpayili Market

After four years of construction, the Kakpayili market in the Northern Region has been abandoned and left to rot.

The market which was completed in 2017 has become a breeding ground for reptiles and snakes.

The mentally challenged men have also converted a portion into a place of adobe where they cook, wash and sleep and hoard all manner of dirty items.

The market has twenty sheds, a Kumasi Ventilated Improved Pit (KVIP), six separate rooms for the market women, and tents.

Almost all the sheds in the market, for instance, have been overtaken by weeds.

Drivers on the other hand dump refuse in the abandoned markets for reasons best known to them.

And this as result has compelled traders to move out to do business elsewhere.
