Kasoa 'ritual money' killing : Police arrest priestess over alleged involvement

A traditional priestess has been  reportedly arrested over her alleged involvement in the recent ritual killing ny some teenagers in Kasoa in the Central Region.

The details of the priestess are however yet to be made public.

Per a report by citinewsroom, the priestess was arrested at Amanase near Suhum in the Eastern Region by a team of police officers to assist with investigations.

It added that the case docket has been handed to the headquarters of the Criminal Investigations Department of the Ghana Police Service.

Menawhile, some heavyweights in Ghana have blamed the National Media Commission (NMC) and the National Communication Authority (NCA)  for the rising youth's interest in 'quick money'

Former President John Agyekum Kufuor, for instance, attributed the recent teenagers' 'ritual money' killing on the attention given to “fraudulent” individuals on various television stations.

Mr Kufour in an interview said some media houses have been giving their platforms to ingenuine people and trickers who make vain promises while the nation watches on.

Member of Parliament for Builsa South, Dr Clement Apaak, noted that the NMC and the NCA must take the blame for allowing certain content on TV  that has influenced teenagers to undertake ritual killings for money.
