Member of parliament for the Ofoase-Ayirebi constituency and Information Minister, Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah, has embarrassed 'rookie' presenter, Serwaa Amihere, for not getting her facts right during an interview.

During the interview, Amihere asked about the Emile Short commission's report and recommendations on the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election violence in 2019. She asked why the president had not dealt with those caught.

Kojo Oppong Nkrumah during her questions quickly recognized that the presenter had not done proper research on the topic. The savvy minister immediately countered her questions with another question for which the presenter had no answer.

“Why haven’t the people who participated in the violence in Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election being punished?” Amihere asked.

“Which people and what was the recommendation of punishment that has not been executed?” the Minister quickly responded.

The GHOne presenter was left dumbfounded and trying to grasp at straws for the answer to the honorable minster's question. The minister then went on to talk about the present administration's achievements in managing the coronavirus pandemic.

Ghanaians were quick to praise Kojo Oppong Nkrumah for the way he handled the situation while lambasting Serwaa Amihere for her lack of answers to the simple questions asked of her.

Serwaa Amihere was quick to go on her Twitter page to defend herself, but it was all too late.

“For the records, the recommendation by the Emile Short Commission on the AWW violence that “Double” should be prosecuted, was accepted by government at paragraph 6.3 (a) of its white paper. Yet till date, no action has been taken on the matter. Fact!”
