A man has been shot dead by land guards on the boundary of Ebom and Adwumakase Kese in the Afigya Kwabre South of the Ashanti Region following incidents of gunshots on Thursday, February 25, 2021.

Two people were gunned down but one is reported to have died with the other battling for his life at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.

The land guards responsible for the alleged acts are nowhere to be found.

A video intercepted by Soireenews on the incident reveals a mass demonstration by inhabitants of the twin towns Ebom-Bomfa against their chief for threatening them with Police in uniforms and land guards on assets legally bought.

According to residents, they bought lands from the chief of Mamponteng and Adwumakase yet they have been chased out by land guards and Policemen in uniform from their property, a ploy they alleged to have been initiated by the chief of Ebom and Bomfa, Nana Kwaku Twumasi due to failure to pay GH¢8,000 for allocation papers.

Soireenews reports that workers on-site at new sites of Ebom and Adwumakase go through troubles in the hands of the employed land guards as their building tools are sometimes ceased and death threats raised at them to quit working on the land.

Residents after the shooting incident protested and threatened to burn the Ebom-Bomfa Palace but the Police arrived early to save the situation.

They have called on Otumfuo Osei Tutu II to attend to the matter for peace and tranquillity to prevail.
