Marcelo will miss the opening fixture of the UEFA Champions League tomorrow against Paris St. Germain due to injury.
The club confirmed the ailment of the Brazilian through their website that he has been diagnosed with a 'post-traumatic cervicodorsal injury' and will continue to be assessed.
“After the tests carried out today on our player Marcelo by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a post-traumatic cervicodorsal injury. His recovery will continue to be assessed” the statement revealed.
The medical team of the club has not open confirmation as to how long the Madrid defender will be missing in action.
