Jose Mourinho could move for Danny Ings in the summer to bolster his attack, Eurosport reports.

The Southampton forward is on fine form and could end up at Tottenham if he fails to extend his contract with the Saints.

Ings signed a three years deal and is expected to sign a new improved contract to keep him at Saint Mary’s with less than two years remaining on his current contract.

Spurs earlier enquired about the availability of the 28-year old but instead brought in Carlos Vinicius on a season-long loan from Benfica.

Although Ings is looking forward to renew his commitment yet the Sun reports that wage demands could lead to his exits if both parties fail to come to an agreement.

“We must be strong to keep our limits at what we have financially, “Ralph Hasenhuttl told the Sun.

“If it’s not what we expect to pay in the future then we have to look for somebody who is cheaper — but it always should be win-win for both.

“If they want to make the next step in the summer to a bigger club and there is an offer fitting to the player then we can always negotiate.

“We know we are not a club at the top of the ranking but in the end, we have a good core who are committed. Every player is invited to do it in our limits.

“I hope we find an agreement and finally he stays with us. If not, then life will go on.”

The former Liverpool player has scored seven goals in 13 appearances for Southampton and Spurs could be waiting to offer the 29-year a better deal to improve their attack.
