National Peace Council CALLS on citizens to BACK UP against abduction

The National Peace Council (NPC) has condemned the recent kidnapping cases in Ghana.

According to the Chairman of the NPC, Most Reverend Professor Emmanuel Asante, ‘The need for peace in this country has never been more apparent than in this present time’ therefore, there is the need for citizens to support in the fight for calm in Ghana.

The Ag. Inspector General of Police, James Oppong Bonuah confirmed at a press conference on Monday that the results of the DNA test on the remains retrieved in a cesspit in Takoradi are the three missing Takoradi girls. He disclosed that their bones have been relayed to the families along with condolences.

21-year old Priscilla Blessing Twum was kidnapped at Kansaworodo; 18-year Ruth Love Quayeson was abducted at the Butumegyadu Junction on December 4 and Priscilla Mantebea Koranchie, 15 years was captured near the Nkroful Junction on December 4 last year.

Most Reverend Professor Emmanuel Asante therefore has called on Ghanaians both home and abroad to back up because the task to eradicate such uncertain act affecting the progress of the nation.

“The need for peace in this country has never been more apparent than in this present time… The NPC calls on all citizens both home and abroad to back up because the task ahead is critical to the development of our society.”
