NDC To Pursue Techiman South 2020 Election Violence In Court

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has assured family's that were affected by the 2020 post-election violence in Techiman South that, they will pursue the case to its conclusion in the court of law.

The NDC National legal team led by Lawyer Abraham Amaliba visited the affected families of the Techiman South elections shooting incident to console them of their loss.

Lawyer Abraham Amaliba addressing the media condemned the incident which took place at the forecourt of the Techiman Bonokyempem hall a day after the 2020 general election.

According to him, the families of the victims were hoping for the President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to publicly addressed the issue during his acceptance speech or state of the Nation Address but to no avail. This according to Lawyer Abraham Amaliba, has prompt the family members of the deceased and that of the injured to pray to the NDC national legal team to deal with the matter legally.

Interacting with the media, the Deputy National Legal team Chairperson of the NDC, Honourable Lawyer Baba admitted that, families of the victims have already given the party their consent to seek justice for their injured and deceased relatives because they believe the government has turned a blind eye to that incident.

The Bono East Regional Chairman of the NDC, Mr Unasco Owusu lauded his party's National Legal team for taking up the case.

He revealed that, the regional Executives under his auspices have petitioned the government on numerous occasions concerning the 2020 post-election violence but without success, hence applauding the NDC national legal team for their intervention.

Some of the victims and family members of the victims told Soireenews reporter Sikahemaa they are grateful for the benevolent act by the NDC National Legal team led by Lawyer Abraham Amaliba and they demanded compensation from the Government.
