Credible sources have revealed a shocking case on how the top officials of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Akwatia Constituency of the Eastern Region were using billions of Ghanaian taxpayers' money to buy votes through massive sharing of girls and goodies to the eligible voters in the area.
The Soireenews.com was reliably informed that the members of the campaign of parliamentary candidate (PC) for NPP in the area, Mr Ernest Yaw Kumi were dishing out money and other goodies including farming materials to eligible voters in desperate attempts to influence their voting pattern in favour of Mr Ernest Yaw Kumi to wrestle the Akwatia Constituency parliamentary seat from the NationalDemocraticCongress (NDC).

So far, according to the sources, the members of the campaign team of Ernest Kumi through the NPP PC has spent billions of Ghanaian taxpayers's money on the voters in the area.
Another dimension of money strategy adopted by the NPP was that most of the would-be residents were footsoldiers of the NPP who felt neglected and were now saying "Yes, this is our cocoa season, you pay us, we give you our votes in the upcoming December Saturday 7, 2024 general elections.
"We will take your money indeed we will collect from whoever offers money, but in the end, it is only parliamentary candidate will win parliamentary sear election in our area," the sources noted
The members of the campaign team of Ernest Kumi and NPP PC in personal, according to the sources, were allegedly be inviting some of the voters to secret dinners at plush hotels.
These last minute criminal acts of the NPP has informed the decision of the suporters and members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Akwatia to raise the red flag and express concern over the lavish gifts and goodies being shared by Ernest Kumi and his campaign team across the Akwatia Constituency.
They pointed accusing fingers at Ernest Kumi and his campaign team for going around the villages and towns within the constituency with a fleet trucks load of goodies which they are sharing for votes, influencing the voters to vote in the favour of Mr Ernest Kumi in the upcoming general elections. These run into billions of Ghana cedis.
In this regard, the opposition NDC, has therefore, called for full disclosure on who is funding the charity bonanza of Mr Ernest Kumi.
"Ghanaians deserve to kmow. How much is being spent and who is paying for it? Where Ernest Kumi and his campaign team are getting the money coming from. And where is this money coming from," the NDC stressed.
