The manager denied seeing the bust-up between Luis and Ceballos saying, "I've got a really bad vision from far away! That's why we train behind closed doors."

Thomas Partey will miss Arsenal’s visit to Elland Road to play Leeds United.

The Ghanaian international was forced off in the Gunners 3-0 loss to Aston Villa at the initial stage of the second half after picking up injury before he was replaced by Dani Ceballos.

The 29-year-old missed the Black Stars African Cup of Nations qualifiers with Sudan, home and away during the international break to focus on recovery.

Asked when Thomas Partey could be back, the manager during the pre-match conference replied, “No, he picked up an injury very early in the game [against Aston Villa].

“He tried to carry on and he wanted to play the second half and we knew it was a significant injury. He has done really well, he is working very hard and he wants to be available.

“Hopefully we can get him back soon but it is an area where we have to be careful and a bit protective with the player,” he said.

Arteta was also enquired on the feud between David Luiz and Dani Ceballos.

The Athletic revealed that the Brazilian seethed at a late challenge from Ceballos at training and retaliated by hitting him on the nose which drew blood.

The news outlet further disclosed that Ceballos responded by confronting Luiz before fellow teammates stepped in to diffuse the scuffle although Ceballos has taken to social media to deny the rumours.

Arteta responded that “nothing” has happened and “Training is very competitive and issues happen a lot of the time, but those things get resolved immediately within the team. There's not much to say.”
