The Director of Center for Ageing Studies of University of Ghana, Professor of Social work, Professor Mavis Dako-Gyeke, has called on the youths in the society to endeavour to offer the need assistance to the aged persons.

The Center for Ageing Studies University of Ghana, Legon called on government of Ghana and Parliament to pay urgent attention to the aged persons' bill and expedite its passage into law.
 
Addressing a press conference in Accra to mark this year's United Nations International Day of older persons' which is celebrated 1 October every year, the Director of Center for Ageing Studies of University of Ghana,  Professor of Social work, Professor Mavis Dako-Gyeke said the legislation would highlights the principal guidelines for the holistic care of older persons.
Following her recommendations, she called for the creation of awareness on resilience among older person's by governmental and non_governmental organizations as well as research Institutions  such as the center for Ageing Studies.
She added that there is the need to place emphasis on the full attainment of the sustainable development Goals for the benefit of older person's by the Ministry of Gender, Children and social protection.
Professors Gyeke called on government and other stakeholders to explore the use of policies and legal framework towards ensuring that older people maintain resilience and always improve their quality of.life
Professor Gyeke appealed to the youth in society to pay attention to older persons and offer them the needed or necessary assistance in contemporary society, acknowledging that in the future, old age would catch up with them as well.
