Premier League set to recommence on June 17

Shareholders on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 voted unanimously to resume competitive training as part of measures to finish the remaining 92 fixtures.

The English Premier League will resume on June 17, 2020, with the postponed fixtures first to be played.

Aston Villa and vs Sheffield United and Manchester City vs Arsenal were suspended as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, which earlier threatened activities leading to a pre-match ban on March 5.

Liverpool and Atletico Madrid UEFA Champions League game was the last to be honored whiles Manchester United and Wolves Europa League fixtures were played behind closed doors.

The PL, FA, EFL, and WSLon March 13 finally suspended the season until it was safe to resume.

The PL on Tuesday, May 27 voted unanimously to resume close contact and competitive training with full team training to be permitted later as resumption date for 'Project Restart' has finally been made known.

Liverpool is on top of the table with 25 point-lead and needs to win two games to secure the title.
