The French club has already sidestepped Barcelona for the services of former Liverpool midfielder, Gini Wijnaldum.

Paris Saint-Germain have become adversaries for Barcelona in the transfer market in recent years, and those tensions could escalate over Ousmane Dembele with the Ligue 1 giants keen on the winger.

The Frenchman's contract is set to expire in 2022 and while Barcelona try to tie down his future with the club, PSG are attentive to the situation and are keen on landing him on a free transfer next summer which could massively affect Blaugrana's negotiating position.

PSG have already frustrated Barcelona this summer by leap-frogging them in the race for Georginio Wijnaldum at a time when he had looked set to move to the Camp Nou.

For now, Barcelona plan to open talks with Dembele next week, although the winger recently stated that he was in no rush to negotiate a new deal with Euro 2020 coming up.

Barcelona want him to stay but, should he leave, they'd like to know sooner rather than later so they can use any funds generated from a sale on new signings.

The Blaugrana are also aware that a good Euro 2020 for Dembele would increase his price. France start as one of the favourites to win the tournament, and that would play into Barcelona's hands.
