The lives of about four hundred and sixty-seven (467) pupils in Vome Methodist Primary School in the bank of Black Volta Lake in the North Tongu District of the Volta Region are in serious danger, Soireenews.com can authoritatively report.

The pupils study under trees and open shades due to lack of classrooms, exposing the children to environmental hazards on the blindside of the Ghana Education Service (GES).

Information reaching Soireenews.com indicates that the situation has compounded with the constant invasion of dangerous snakes, scorpions, alligators, and other reptiles which some chased out the pupils of during class hours.

Soireenews.com in an interview that the Battor-Vome Vome Methodist Primary School which was established in 1939 as a mud structure has never seen renovation and collapsed during the wake of the novel Coronavirus in March 2020 hence learning and teaching are being done under trees.

And any time it rained lessons were disrupted because the pupils studying under the trees and shades had to be sent home.

Our investigations revealed that most teachers refused to post to the school due to the lack of accommodation whiles those who accepted the posting did not stay for long.

Due to these conditions, effective studies and quality teaching is degraded.

According to the Chairman of the Parent Teachers' Association (PTA) of the school, Mr. Henry Kwadwo Agbemabia Gborglah, lacks classroom blocks, teaching and learning materials, and sanitary facilities among others.

Authorities have however called on the general public for assistance.
