The Northern Regional Crime Officer, Superintendent Bernard Baba Ananga says five people have been arrested and are helping them with investigations on the  Yong Dakpemyili Issue.

SoireeNews 24 reported on Friday, February 19, 2021, that more than 23 houses were completely burnt at Yong Dakpemyili, a community in the Tamale Metropolis of the Northern Region of Ghana.

The calamity occurred last Thursday evening over an alleged chieftaincy dispute. The Yong community is now a ghost town despite the call from the police for residence to return home for full security protection.

The Northern Regional Crime Officer has revealed that the people in the community should return to their various homes and quit hiding since they are supposed to continue with life.

According to him, anyone who is involved will be held responsible and the law will take its course.

As at the time of filing the report, residents are still in a hideout and the town is now empty.
