Revoke Hawa Koomson’s Nomination Now -NDC Tells Nana Addo

Executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Akuapem North Constituency have called on President Nana Addo to revoke the nomination of Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East Constituency, Mrs. Mavis Hawa Koomson as Fisheries Minister-designate.

The executives believe that she does not qualify to occupy the position.

The Akuapem North Constituency NDC Vice-Chairman, Mr. Kwaku Agyapong in an exclusive interview with SN24 on behalf of the Akuapem North Constituency NDC executives said “we are seriously lobbying for the disqualification of Hawa Koomson as the Fisheries Minister  .”

It could be recalled that at a time when security issues in the Awutu Senya East constituency were heightened during the 2020 election registration, Madam Hawa Koomson admitted to firing the shot in what she said was an act of self-defense.

For this reason, the NDC and many Ghanaians upon hearing the nomination of the Awutu Senya East MP have adversely criticized President Akofo Addo suggested that her nomination should be repealed.

The Akuapem North Constituency NDC Vice-Chairman claims if President Nana Addo does not annul Hawa Koomson’s appointment nomination indicates that he. Nana Addo Danquah is in support of her and commando tactics.

He added that Hawa Koomson has never shown remorse over the unpardonable act therefore the NDC in Akuapem North will never accept the Awutu Senya MP if vetting committees qualifies her as the Minister for Fisheries.
