Santa Maria  Assembly Member Registers  312 On NHIS
The Assembly Member of the Satan Maria Electoral Area in the Ga Central municipality of the Greater Accra Region, Nana Kwesi Boandwoh, in fulfilling a promise made during his campaign, has registered a total of three hundred and twelve (312) people onto the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).

Mr Boandwoh had pledged to renew NHIS cards of the vulnerable in the Santa Maria for them to have access to quality health care.
He affirmed that he would work in conjunction with the health directorate of the Ga Central Municipal Assembly on how they could properly manage the health of the people in the area.

He noted that during his campaign, he promised to bridge the healthcare gab of the people in his electoral area by way of establishing a comprehensive health project dubbed; "Health First Agenda for which he promised to register over 2000 people onto the NHIS in the area."
He indicated that for the past five months ago, he has started the project for which he registered a total of 312 people onto the scheme.
"Plans were currently underway to renew NHIS cards for holders whose cards were expired," he disclosed adding that he has already delegated people to go to the various houses within the Santa Maria to collate the lists of the names of the people to benefit from the exercise.
Having been voted into office, he has fulfilled the promise and also promised that it was going to be a yearly Assembly’s programme so far as he continued to be the Assembly member for the area.
“During my campaign l realized some people were needy and struggled to go the hospital since they were unable to register for the NHIS cards, and these people died as a result of poverty. So based on the calls I received and the interventions I did for some people who were financially down, I decided to support the poor and vulnerable in society when I became the Assembly member,” Mr Boandwoh told Soireenews. com in an interview in Nkawkaw on Monday September 19, 2022.
“We started it in five months ago and we have done over 312 cards to support the people so they could access health care. I decided to do that based on what I saw during my campaign and we are going to do this those who are in need of the NHIS cards to support the needy,” he disclosed.
Nana Kwesi Boandwoh disclosed this when he was speaking in an exclusive interview with Soireenews.com espousing his plan to controlling the increasing criminal activities in the area.

The Assembly Member indicated that together with Nii Osabu Akwei Tibo I, Sowutuom Nsumfa Manste, Naa Shika, Nkosuohemaa Santa Maria,Nii Akwei, Nkosuohene of A-Lang 
Nii Adama, with able assistance from the Unit Committee members, Concerned Citizens  of the Area and some kingmakers visited various Churches starting from Christ Apostolic Church, Saving Grace Bible Church International, Sowutuom Central Pentecost, Convenant Makers Church,Santa Maria Central Pentecost amongst others.
The Assembly Member explained the morale behind their visit to the above Churches.
According to him, he wants to touch base with the individuals within his jurisdiction.
Nanai Boandwoh noted that the initiative was not meant to be imposed on any individual so he made them fill a form to indicate their consent.
He said he gave them up to the second week of October,2022 to present the filled form so he could hand them over to the police for necessary action to be taken.

He said the formation will proceed public education with the collection of their finger prints.
The Chief of the Area, according to the Nkosouhene, Naa Shika is ready to donate a piece of land for project.
Additionally, the Assembly Member gave the indication to visit mosques within the Area for the purpose of education.
He said a general meeting will be organized to brief residents on the need for same and how they could also assist.
He stated categorically clear that his Initiative is devoid of politics but the purpose of national development.
