The Savelugu Government Hospital in the Northern Region has begun full health care service after weeks of partial closure due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The health facility was partially lockdown after about 63 Staff of the hospital were tested positive for the covid-19 pandemic.

Though emergency and other complicated cases were taken into consideration during the lockdown period at the hospital, patients with the aforementioned cases in the Municipality and it's surrounding communities were admitted.

During the period of the closure, the affected staff were tasked to self-isolate for fourteen days, whilst other's were made to wait for their blood results.

The entire facility was fumigated by Zoomlion Ghana before the full operations began on Monday, March 1, 2021.

A Member of the Covid-19 taskforce in the hospital, Mr Zahid Aremeyaw in a phone interview told SoireeNews.com that, all staff's of the hospital have returned to work.

According to him, the staff who tested positive have fully recovered and have since reported working.

The hospital was partially shut down on Monday, 22nd February 2021 to stop the spread of the covid-19 following a sudden upsurge of the cases.

About 63 staff of the hospital tested positive for the Covid-19, with several samples awaits for testing at the laboratory.
